Huge numbers of people across different countries are exasperated by systemic inequities laid bare by the pandemic and the patterns of violence against Black people.

CEOs are joining the conversation with statements expressing empathy, urging inclusive behaviour, and promising action.

And we need more than words.

In our book INdivisible, Alison Maitland and I show how to move from commitment into action and measurable impact. Meaningful change requires a comprehensive strategy supported by experts, budgets, and accountability for results.

To achieve lasting impact, leaders must be more ambitiously focused on inclusion. We envisage an ‘IN Corps’ of companies working together to advance inclusion across their organizations and society – just as B Corp organizations advance sustainability. Such leadership, especially done collectively, can create bigger and more impactful change.

These actions are for leaders with a formal title, and for the leader inside each individual.

What steps are you taking for real change?
